Putting on the Ritz

Was Totally Hair Barbie

This doll was a rescue: she'd been mauled by a dog and lovingly picked up at a yard sale. When I started she was covered in mold and chew marks, and even missing a toe or two. Poor thing. She has been completely repainted and given a facial resculpt to change her physical appearance. Her eyes are mostly closed on purpose, I assure you. Her hair has been partially rerooted, trimmed and swept into one of the "trendy" styles I saw in NY when I lived there. Her arms have been reshaped and sanded to smooth the damage out. I had to convince her legs to straighten.

All lingerie was created without a pattern and is not removable; those are real panty hose. The same goes for her earrings, nose ring, hairpiece, necklace and anklet. I repainted her shoes for that black look, but originally they were lonely mismatched shoes by Mattel. The under dress was created without a pattern, the coat was created from a pattern I modified for the purposes of this creation. Her bracelet, phone, paper, chair and clothing stand are by Mattel and are only props. I can't remember where the wooden table comes from. ^-^

On a side note, the eyelashes were a real pain and I probably won't use that method again.
