Your experiences: My very first impression when touching the objects was that of a Geisha.   I had recently watched the dvd of  "Memoirs of a Geisha" and I have to admit that it was an inspiration.   I had bounced a few other ideas around and almost changed my mind but the flow of ideas did not come freely so I returned to my first impression.   figuring out how to create a pattern that would allow the length and size of pieces I needed and to if possible match the design at seams.  This was the hardest part, because the fabric was shear in the stripes I had to line it with a white silk fabric and also made an under kimono of the same white silk which is also lined.    I had to take license in creating a fan out of the black lace using two of the gold rings for support of the spines and allow her to hold it.   I had a lot of fun making her I hope everyone enjoys her also.
