Notes From the Artist: (yes, she's been repainted, but not for the contest. She's only modelling the outfit, which will be put up for sale after the contest.) The outfit consists of a romantic tutu in two pieces ((bodice with front lacing for adjustment and drop-waist net-and-tulle skirt) made according to notes I dug up from a workshop I attended about forty years ago for human-sized ballet costumes); an overdress in spiderweb pattern netting trimmed in silver and seed-pearl beads; a matching veil with pearl-beaded coronet, matching stockings, and white shoes (made of play-doh and the same linen-like fabric of the tutu bodice, heavily painted). The tutu uses hook-and-eye closures on both pieces; the over dress uses hand-sewn silver thread eyes with bead clusters. All finishing was done by hand.
